MEP Special Inspections
Required on every project to ensure construction matches approved drawings, Required by the DOB.
Backflow preventer (Water)
Required when making any changes to incoming water service from the street. Installing backflow prevention devices prevent contamination of the City's water supply.
SC-1 (sewer)
Required when enlarging or installing new sewer service from street, and when increasing building footprint. All new buildings need this.
Hydrant Flow Test
Testing coordinated by us and performed by DEP to determine water pressure at nearest fire hydrant to property. Test report required for all sprinkler projects.
Utility Electric (service layout application)
Service layout application to electric utility company, including load letter and initial correspondence. Required when enlarging or installing new electric service from the street. All new buildings need this.
Utility Gas (service layout application)
Service layout application to gas utility company, including load letter and initial correspondence. Required when enlarging or installing new Gas service from the street. All new buildings need this.
Self Certification
Filing which enables Professional Engineers to certify that the plans are in compliance with all applicable laws. This reduces the amount of time you have to wait for a DOB permit from 1 month to 2 days.
Energy ComCheck Envelope
Energy analysis for envelope. Required on all projects with changes to building envelope (roof, windows, exterior walls). Proves building is energy code compliant. Read more about it here
Energy ComCheck Lighting
Energy analysis for lighting. Required on all projects with changes to building lighting. Proves building is energy code compliant. Read more about it here
DOB Filling
Preparation and submission of all DOB Paperwork (typically ~100 pages). Construction cannot begin until all paperwork is approved.
ACP - 5 Asbestos Testing
Asbestos Testing, required on all projects.
Commissioning
Commissioning required by 2016 NYC ECC to ensure proper equipment function. Read more here
